The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (“INEGI”), through the press release 10/24, announced the update of the value of the Unit of Measurement and Update (“UMA”) that will enter into force as of February 1, 2024.

Furthermore, the UMA in force for this year will be the one shown below:

• Daily UMA: MXP$108.57.
• Monthly UMA: MXP$3,300.53.
• Annual UMA: MXP$39,606.36.

In such sense, the adjustment to the UMA represents an increase of 4.66% with respect to the UMA for the year 2023 which will remain in force until January 31, 2024.

It should be noted that given the deindexation of the minimum wage, the UMA currently serves as a unit of account or pecuniary economic reference in order to determine the payment of obligations and other assumptions set forth in both federal and local laws, as well as other legal provisions.
